OICC Kuwait Alappuzha committee welcomes cultural activist Kabir

OICC Kuwait Alappuzha district committee gave a rousing reception to ‘Samskarika Sahiti’ (Cultural Literature) Alleppey district chairman A Kabir, who arrived in Kuwait on a private visit. The reception meeting was presided over by OICC Alappuzha district president Manoj Roy and inaugurated by OICC national committee president Varghese Puthukulangara. The OICC Alappuzha district committee’s memento was presented by Roy and general secretary Kalesh Pillai.

The meeting reminded the public of the struggle of art and cultural movements against the rulers who are restricting freedom of expression in contemporary politics. The meeting wished that the leadership of Cultural Literature district chairman A Kabir, who is also the production controller of several films, best wishes for his services in the cultural field.

National committee general secretary Varghese Joseph Maramon, secretary Suresh Mathur, national council members Vipin Mangat, Binoy Chandran, OICC Kottayam district president Bathar Vaikom and OICC Kannur district president Lipin Muzhakunnun spoke and extended their greetings.

National council member Thomas Pallikal, Alappuzha district secretary Biju Parayil, Sujith Kayalodu, Sanil Thayil, Harilal, Pradeep Kumar, Goldie Oommen, Jomon Kottavila, Sarath Mannar, Nassar Kayamkulam, Biju Kayamkulam, Chinnu Roy and others were present at the meeting. Alappuzha district general secretary Kalesh B Pillai welcomed the gathering and executive member Sabu Thomas proposed the vote of thanks.
