Former president Donald Trump's youngest son Barron Trump, 18, has seemingly won the respect of prominent Republican figures as he's been selected as a Florida delegate at the Republican convention in an apparent plan to follow in his father's footsteps.

But the teen doesn't appear to fear his critics either as he reportedly threatened the media and Trump's opponents to do their worst. Up until this point, Barron would be seen only at Trump rallies standing idle next to his father as he spouted his far-right rhetoric.

However, according to insiders, the youngest member of the Trump clan has been making waves within the Republican party. Barron is reportedly ready to step out of his father's shadow, while of course showing support for Trump's 2024 presidential campaign, and make a name for himself in politics, signalling that he isn't afraid to have his name appear in a smearing headline.

An insider who spoke to the Daily Mail described Barron as a tall—mentioning how he towers over his father with a lengthy 6ft 7in stature— and knowledgeable young man who is much more interested in politics than many think. "I see all the attributes of a future President if he has the appetite for it. And why not? He has the Trump genes," they said.

Barron, who celebrated his 18th birthday in March, is reportedly willing to become a more visible figure within the family like his older siblings Ivanka, Donald Jr, Eric and Tiffany. The source added that Melania Trump, 54, wants to protect her son from the sometimes harsh world of politics but is also willing to give Barron the space he needs.

She will be particularly protective in the coming months as her husband campaigns to return to the White House amid his multiple legal battles. "While he was still a minor she zealously protected him and we knew very little about the details of his daily life," the insider told the Mail.

The young Trump has been befriending various high-profile conservative socialites like Iranian-American businessman Patrick Bet-David, 45, inviting the mogul to dinner at Mar-a-Lago. The millionaire businessman spoke highly of Barron on his PDB podcast, commemorating the young Trump for being an excellent host by providing interesting stories and entertainment.

Bet-David said everything about the dinner was impressive. That wasn't the end, the mogul went on to emphasize Barron's manners, humility and dashing good looks. Disclosing a conversation he had with the young Trump, Bet-David said Barron is ready to be sullied by the media and his father's rivals.

"I don't care. Good, do it. They've gone and done it to every kid," Barron reportedly said. Adding a fun little titbit to the show, podcast guest Adam Sosnick said at one point during the dinner with Barron loud music began blaring from the speakers. When he looked over, he saw the culprit was none other than the former president.
